15 Si-môn Phi-e-rơ với một môn-đồ khác theo sau Đức Chúa Jêsus. Môn-đồ đó có quen với thầy cả thượng-phẩm, nên vào với Đức Chúa Jêsus trong sân thầy cả thượng-phẩm.16 Song Phi-e-rơ đứng ngoài, gần bên cửa. Môn-đồ kia, tức là người quen với thầy cả thượng-phẩm, đi ra nói cùng người đàn-bà canh cửa, rồi đem Phi-e-rơ vào.17 Bấy giờ, con đòi đó, tức là người canh cửa, nói cùng Phi-e-rơ rằng: Còn ngươi, cũng là môn-đồ của người đó, phải chăng? Người trả lời rằng: Ta chẳng phải.18 Các đầy-tớ và kẻ sai vì trời lạnh, nhúm một đống lửa, rồi đứng gần một bên mà sưởi. Phi-e-rơ đứng với họ, và cũng sưởi.

25 Vả lại, Si-môn Phi-e-rơ đương đứng sưởi đằng kia, thì có kẻ hỏi người rằng: Còn ngươi, ngươi cũng là môn-đồ người phải không? Người chối đi mà trả lời rằng: Ta không phải.26 Một người đầy-tớ của thầy cả thượng-phẩm, bà-con với người mà Phi-e-rơ chém đứt tai, nói rằng: Ta há chẳng từng thấy ngươi ở trong vườn với người sao?27 Phi-e-rơ lại chối một lần nữa; tức thì gà gáy.
Luke 22
54 Then they seized him and led him away, bringing him into the high priest's house, and Peter was following at a distance.55 And when they had kindled a fire in the middle of the courtyard and sat down together, Peter sat down among them.56 Then a servant girl, seeing him as he sat in the light and looking closely at him, said, “This man also was with him.”57 But he denied it, saying, “Woman, I do not know him.”58 And a little later someone else saw him and said, “You also are one of them.” But Peter said, “Man, I am not.”59 And after an interval of about an hour still another insisted, saying, “Certainly this man also was with him, for he too is a Galilean.”60 But Peter said, “Man, I do not know what you are talking about.” And immediately, while he was still speaking, the rooster crowed.61 And the Lord turned and looked at Peter. And Peter remembered the saying of the Lord, how he had said to him, “Before the rooster crows today, you will deny me three times.”62 And he went out and wept bitterly.

66 And as Peter was below in the courtyard, one of the servant girls of the high priest came,67 and seeing Peter warming himself, she looked at him and said, “You also were with the Nazarene, Jesus.”68 But he denied it, saying, “I neither know nor understand what you mean.” And he went out into the gateway and the rooster crowed.69 And the servant girl saw him and began again to say to the bystanders, “This man is one of them.”70 But again he denied it. And after a little while the bystanders again said to Peter, “Certainly you are one of them, for you are a Galilean.”71 But he began to invoke a curse on himself and to swear, “I do not know this man of whom you speak.”72 And immediately the rooster crowed a second time. And Peter remembered how Jesus had said to him, “Before the rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times.” And he broke down and wept.

69 Bấy giờ Phi-e-rơ vẫn ngồi ngoài sân. Có một người đầy-tớ gái đến gần, mà nói cùng người rằng: Ngươi cũng là kẻ ở với Jêsus, người Ga-li-lê.70 Song Phi-e-rơ chối trước mặt chúng mà rằng: Ta không hiểu ngươi nói chi.71 Khi đi ra ngoài cửa, lại có một đầy-tớ gái khác thấy người, bèn nói cùng kẻ ở đó rằng: Người nầy cũng ở với Jêsus, người Na-xa-rét.72 Song Phi-e-rơ lại chối và thề rằng: Ta chẳng hề biết người ấy.73 Một chặp nữa, những kẻ ở gần đó đến gần nói với Phi-e-rơ rằng: Chắc thật, ngươi cũng thuộc về đảng ấy, vì tiếng nói của ngươi khai ngươi ra.74 Người bèn rủa mà thề rằng: Ta không biết người đó đâu! Tức thì gà gáy.75 Phi-e-rơ nhớ lại lời Đức Chúa Jêsus đã phán rằng: Trước khi gà gáy, ngươi sẽ chối ta ba lần. Đoạn, người đi ra và khóc-lóc cách đắng cay.
